Margao Sports Club secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ugem Rising Club to move into the quarterfinals of the 14th Wilred Leisure Soccer Cup 2025, played at the DSYA ground in Curtorim on Monday.
The all-important goal came in the 12th minute through Edger Noronha for Margao.
Ugem Rising Club had a golden opportunity to equalize with a penalty kick after their player Jacce D’Costa was brought down by Margao keeper Karol Soares. However, Macson D’Costa failed to convert the penalty.
Edger Noronha of Margao was awarded Man of the Match by club member Sandip Verlekar.
