Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Kautilya Lekha Bhavan, the newly constructed office building for the Directorate of Accounts at Porvorim.
Embracing Goa’s and India’s rich cultural heritage, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that the name “Kautilya” was chosen for the new Accounts department building. The investment of 44 Crores in Kautilya Lekha Bhavan underscores the government’s commitment to provide state-of-the-art facilities for efficient financial management.
In line with the digital era, CM announced the comprehensive digitization of all departments, incorporating UPI-enabled cashless facilities. He assured that housing loans would again continue, emphasizing the collaborations with empanelled nationalized banks to seamlessly implement various schemes and subsidies across departments.
Expressing gratitude, Tourism Minister Shri Rohan Khaunte commended Chief Minister Dr. Sawant for his unwavering support in fostering new infrastructures in the State. He highlighted that the shift of the Accounts department to Porvorim signifies a positive step towards development and infrastructure. A good infrastructure provides job satisfaction.
All the Ex Directors were felicitated at the hands of CM Dr. Pramod Sawant.
The event witnessed the presence of PWD Minister Shri. Nilesh Cabral; Curtorim MLA Shri Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco; Smt Kavita Naik, ZP; Shri Swapnil Chodankar, Sarpanch, Penha de Franca; officials, and staff of the Directorate of Accounts.
Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance, extended a warm welcome, while Smt Siddhi Upadhye compered the function. Shri. Deelip Krishna Humraskar, Director of the Directorate of Accounts, proposed the vote of thanks.
Kautilya Lekha Bhavan is a state of the art building having interior public space characterised by the presence of hand painted murals depicting various dynasties that had presence in Goa and the mudra that were prevalent during those eras. Taking the theme further all key spaces derive their names based on the ancient names of the villages of Goa.
