The Annual General Body meeting of Indian Red Cross Society, Goa State under the Presidentship of Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, Governor of Goa and President of Indian Red Cross Society at Raj Bhavan (old durbar hall), was held at Dona Paula, today.
Addressing the members of IRS, Governor lauded the efforts of the Red Cross Society for its invaluable contributions to humanitarian and further congratulated the institution for the good service to the society and their dedication. Their Service embodies the spirit of humanity.
Governor also released the Annual Report of ICRS, Goa for the year 2022-23.
Shri Gaurish Dhond, Chairman of ICRS highlighted the various works carried out by IRS. Shri Dhond said blood donation camps were conducted by IRCS in collaboration with Blood Bank, Goa Medical College, Bambolim, and Asilo Blood Bank, Mapusa. Items included in Hygiene kits boxes are Bath Soaps, Laundry Soaps, Detergent Cake, Coconut oil, Tooth pastes, Tooth brushes, disposable shaving Razor, Sanitary Napkins, boxes were distributed through various IRCS Taluka Branches to the Municipality workers, rural areas and the needy people . Oxygen Cylinders & Concentrators were provided to the needy people in Goa and various other organizations in and around Goa and neighbouring States on returnable basis without any charges to save many lives.
Shri Dhond further informed that Indian Red Cross Society, in association with Madhav, Madhavi & Mahendra Dhond Memorial Trust donated one Maruti Eco Van to Atmavishwas Special Schools, TB Nutritional Support Kit under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, supported by Governor of Goa under Nikshay Mitra – Nutritional Support TB kit were handed to respective 11 Primary Health Centers.
