Goan Reporter News: Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai attendes “Viksit Bharat @ 2047- Voice of Youth” program at New Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan

Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai attended the “Viksit Bharat @ 2047- Voice of Youth” program which was virtually addressed by Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi at New Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan today.

After the launch, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Vice Chancellors of the Universities, Heads of Institutes and faculty members in workshops organised at Raj Bhavans across the country, which will symbolise the start of the initiative.

In the address the Prime Minister said, ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Voice of Youth’ workshop is a wonderful platform for the Yuva Shakti to actively engage and contribute in the journey towards a developed India.

The Prime Minister reiterated the glorious struggle for freedom as a source of motivation. He said each endeavor such as Satyagrah, revolutionary path, non-cooperation, swadeshi, and social and educational reforms during that time were geared towards freedom. This period saw Universities like Kashi, Lucknow, Vishwa Bharti, Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Nagpur University, Annamalai, Andhra and University of Kerala which has gone a long way to strengthen the consciousness of the nation.

Further, the Prime Minister mentioned the faith in India’s Yuva Shakti in making the dream of a Viksit Bharat into a reality. He said, the Voice of Youth’s initiative is aimed at integrating the youngsters towards building a developed India. The goal of the country is Viksit Bharat, Sashakt Bharat. We cannot stop until this dream of a developed India is fulfilled, he added.

We have 25 years of Amrit Kaal in front of us. We have to work 24 hours a day for the goal of Viksit Bharat. This is the environment we have to create as a family, the Prime Minister emphasized.

Earlier, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Government of India welcomed.

Thereafter, Shri M. R. M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor welcomed the guests and at the end he spoke about how to engage youth in contribution towards Viksit Bharat 2047 by highlighting the communication plan for Viksit Bharat @2047 : Voice of Youth program.

Soon after the  Prime Minister’s address the Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai said, the vision of Viksit Bharat is to actively involve the youth of the country in formulation of national plan, priorities and goals of the country. In line with this vision, the Voice of youth’ initiative will provide a platform to the youth of the country to contribute ideas to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Citing the importance of the workshop Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai maintained that the workshop will be a key step towards initiating the process of engaging youth to share their ideas and suggestions for Viksit Bharat @2047.

Highlighting the efforts of the Prime Minister, the Governor said,  Prime Minister always gives calls to the students to do maximum efforts to achieve the desired goals. He said the students are vision of our country and the future of the country.

Viksit Bharat@2047 is the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of its independence, the Governor added.

As part of the program, the panel discussion was held on the topic “Innovation, Science  and Technology”.  The panellists were Prof. Harilal B. Menon, Vice-Chancellor, Goa University Prof. O.R. Jaiswal, Director, NIT,  Prof. B.K. Mishra, Director, IIT, Prof. Suman Kundu, Director, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus.
