Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai disbursed financial assistance to 106 dialysis patients in the state from the Governor’s discretionary fund at Raj Bhavan today.
The special program was organised by the Raj Bhavan to celebrate State Foundation Day of Nagaland and eve of State Foundation Day of Assam.
Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Joshua D’Souza, Shri M. R. M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor, Shri Deepak Meni, President of Assam Society Goa graced the occasion.
Addressing the celebration the Governor, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai said such celebrations showcases great fervour, the rich and vibrant cultures of States and UTs, so that all people from different regions can connect, interact and forge bonds of social and cultural amity,
Mentioning the main purpose of celebrating the Foundation Day of different States and UTs, the Governor said, this helps to promote mutual understanding between the people of different States and UTs.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Joshua D’Souza complimented the work of Raj Bhavan and lauded the work of the Governor and said, the Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has helped the underprivileged people of Goa and has announced various schemes for needy people.
The Governor visited 91 NGOs and disbursed financial assistance personally at the doorsteps of these institutions although the initial target was 71 NGOs Further, during the Goa Gram Sampurna Yatra, Governor visited length and breadth of Goa and distributed financial assistance to number of dialysis/cancer/other patients from the Governor’s discretionary fund.
As part of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, till date the Raj Bhavan has celebrated the Foundation Day of many States and UTs. Liberation day of Goa will be aslo celebrated at Raj Bhavan on December 19, 2023.
