Goa Pavilion inaugurated at India International Trade Fair, New Delhi
The much-awaited India International Trade Fair, an initiative of India Trade Promotion Organisation (A Government of India Enterprise), a mega event got off to a grand start at the world-class landmark complex created to fulfill the aspirations of global and domestic exhibitors at iconic Pragati Maidan in the national capital New Delhi today.
The Goa pavilion was inaugurated by Shri. Prakash Naik, Information Officer, Department of Information & Publicity in the presence of Shri. Shanto Naik, Assitant Information Officer, Shri. Sadashiv Narayan Pandit and Vishant S. N. Pilarnkar, from Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) and Shri. Sadanand Naik from Goa Industrial Development Corporation.
On the occasion, he also released the brochure titled “Swayampurna Goa, Marching towards self-reliance 2.0” brought out by the Department of Information and Publicity.
The theme of 41st edition of India International Trade Fair is Vocal for Local, Local to Global based on the vision of Prime Minister of India to achieve the goal of Amanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). The 14 days international event will conclude on November 27, 2022.
The Goa pavilion is erected on an area of 60 Sqm in the hall No 3F bare space at Pragati Maidan which is aesthetically designed depicting Goan architecture and showcasing the initiatives and achievements of the state government by M/s Advertising Associates, one of the reputed agencies from Goa. These included Swayampurna Goa marching towards Self-reliance 2.0, New Mopa International airport, Har Ghar Jal under Jal Jeevan Mission, besides major initiatives in industries and tourism sector, Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goem initiative, forthcoming 53rd edition of International Film Festival India, 9th edition of World Aryuveda Conngress & Arogya expo and allied endeavors related to infrastructure development and promoting self-employment.
Thrust has also been laid to showcase the freedom struggle movement of Goa besides to provide for the promotion of investment in the state of Goa and the creation of the administrative and operational framework for the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board as a Single-window clearance facilitation mechanism with the prime objective of ensuring time bound grants of various clearances, licenses, permissions, and approval under relevant state laws so as to provide an investor friendly environment in the state of Goa.
Focus is laid on Ease of Doing Business as the state is committed to maintain the pace and has been continuously on-boarding new services on the online portal through single-window system and creation of a common application form to be accepted by IPB and routed to the concerned department including land allotment by GIDC. Goa-IPB is the nodal agency for the purpose of EoDB as per the imitative of Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The Goan artists will enthrall the Delhites and other visitors from India and abroad with their traditional Goan folk performances during their visit to Goa pavilion.
The Department of Information & Publicity is the nodal agency for the participation of Goa state in IITF, an annual mega trade fair which play a key role in facilitating and coordinating with other participating departments and corporations for setting up the stall and conduct allied activities during the 14 days IITF period. Apart from DIP other participating departments are Department of Tourism, Department of Handicraft, Textile and Coir, Directorate of Industries Trade and Commerce, Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Goa Investment Promotion Facilitation Board and Goa Industrial Development Corporation.
Similarly, the message of the Chief Minister of Goa has been prominently displayed which reads, “Swayampurna Goa program is one of the key agendas of our governance. It aims to empower every Goan residing in the village panchayats and municipalities to become self-reliant”.
Artisans attached to Department of Handicraft as usual are also participating wherein, they will display and sell their products thus adhering to the theme Vocal for Local, Local to Global.
Prior to the inauguration of Goa pavilion the India International Trade Fair was inaugurated by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Shri. Piyush Goyal as per the prevailing practice and subsequently the participating states and union territories besides foreign countries inaugurated their stalls to pave way for the people to visit their respective stalls.
