Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce celebrated World MSME Day with the theme Employment for Persons with Disabilities in Private Sector at Nalanda Multipurpose Auditorium, EDC House, Panaji today.
Smt. Swetika Sachan, IAS, Secretary Sports, Director of Industries, Trade and Commerce and CEO Goa IPB lighted the traditional lamp to mark the celebrations.
Others present were Shri. Pravimal Abhishek, IAS, Managing Director, Goa Industrial Development Corporation, Shri Taha Haaziq, Secretary for State Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Shri Damodar Kochkar. President, Goa State Industries Association, Shri Ralph D’Souza, President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Shri Rajkumar Kamat, President of Laghu Udyog Bharati and Executive Director BNI Goa region.
Addressing the MSME’s Smt. Swetika Sachan informed that the purpose behind having such events was to bring the stakeholders under one platform to think and decide what can be done more in time to come. Further she stressed on creating more resources and appealed to give equal space to various communities in the country.
Addressing the MSME’s Shri. Pravimal Abhishek, IAS told that IDC intends to organize MSME Expo in Goa to showcase and display the Goan products. He said the State Government has notified the Goa Logistics and Warehousing Policy 2023 which aims to strengthen the existing logistic blocks of the State by granting industry status to the logistic and warehousing sector.
