District Magistrate, South , has ordered that all Restaurants, Bars, tea shops, Paan shops, eateries and other food shops joints (Dhabas, Gaddas) etc, situated in the jurisdiction/areas of 12 Benaulim Zilla Panchayat Constituency in Salcete Taluka and Bye Elections to Ward No. VII of V.P Cundaim Ward No II of V.P Volvoi, Ward No III of V.P. Querim, Ward No. XI Of V.P. Borim of Ponda Taluka, Ward No: V of VP Rachol, Ward No. II of V.P. Seraulim, Ward No. I of V.P. Assolna of Salcete Taluka and Ward No. II of V. P. Xeldem of Quepem Taluka of South Goa District jurisdiction within 200 mtrs of the polling stations on the day of Poll i.e on June 23, 2024 from 06:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. and the counting centres on the day of counting i.e. on June 24, 2024 from 06:00 am till end of counting of votes of respective Zilla Panchayat Jurisdiction in South God District, shall remain closed.

DM further ordered ban on any gathering or crowd comprising of more than 5 persons within 200 meters of polling stations within the jurisdiction/arca of 12 – Benaulim Zilla Panchayat Constituency in Salcete Taluka and Bye Elections to Ward No. VII of V.P. Cundaim, Ward No. II of V.P. Volvoi. Ward No. III of V.P. Querim, Ward No. Xl of V.P. Borim of Ponda Taluka: Ward No. V of VP. Rachol. Ward No. II of V.P. Seraulim, Ward No. I of V.P. Assolna of Salcate Taluka and Ward No. II of V.P. Xeldem of Quepem Taluka of South Goa District jurisdiction.

It is further directed that the above restrictions shall not be apply to public servants on duty and to bonafide marriage or funeral processions or religious processions / functions. Also this order shall not be apply to the authorised officers on Election Duty by the State Government, including the Polling Officials. Magistrates, Police Officials and Government Staff
