Goan Reporter News: Directorate of Art and Culture (DAC) to organise Matoli and Dekhawa Competition.

The Directorate of Art and Culture (DAC) will organise its annual State Level Matoli decoration competition for individual households from 3rd to 6th day of Ganesh Chaturthi Festival i.e. September 21 to September 24, 2023.

The prizes will be awarded as follows : 1st prize of Rs. 20,000/-, 2nd prize of Rs. 15,000/- , 3rd prize of Rs. 12,000/-, 4th prize of Rs. 10,000/- and 5th of prize Rs. 8,000/-. There will be five consolation prizes of Rs. 5,000/- each.

Similarly, the State Level Dekhawa presentation competition will be held only for the Registered Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals from Goa, and same will be conducted from 7th to 10th day of Ganesh Chaturthi Festival i.e. 25th to 28th September, 2023.

The prizes will be awarded as follows : 1st prize Rs. 35,000/-, 2nd prize Rs. 30,000/-, 3rd prize Rs. 25,000/-, 4th prize Rs. 20,000/-  and 5th prize Rs. 15,000/-. Also five consolation prizes of Rs. 10,000/- each will be awarded. However, in absence of significant number of participants, the department reserves the right to hold or to cancel the competition.

The interested household, individuals and Registered Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals has to fill the application forms for participating in the competition which same may be collected from the office of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji (0832)2404602/2404636.

The application forms are also available at various sub offices of the department at Ravindra Bhavan of Curchorem, Ravindra Bhavan of Margao, Ravindra Bhavan of  Baina – Vasco and Ravindra Bhavan of Sankhali and also Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda. The form is also available on website : www.artandculture.goa.gov.in .

Late entries will not be entertained. The application form are available from August 28th, 2023 and it is to be submitted duly filled by September 8th, 2023 and may be submitted at any of the above mentioned offices, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
