Goan Reporter News: CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Inaugurates Two-Day Workshop on Logistics

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a two-day workshop on logistics organized by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) at Mantralaya, Porvorim. The event also featured the launch of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document for the implementation and utilization of the PM Gati Shakti State Master Plan for Goa.

The workshop focused on key initiatives including PM Gati Shakti, the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), and the implementation of the Goa Logistics and Warehousing Policy 2023.

In his address, CM Sawant emphasized the government’s commitment to developing the logistics sector to attract investment and create employment opportunities. “Through the Goa Logistics and Warehousing Policy and the collaborative efforts of all departments, we aim to enhance our logistics capabilities,” he stated. He highlighted the Government’s aim in developing hard infrastructure,such as roads and ports, and soft infrastructure, including digital portals and software through the PM Gati Shakti State Master Plan.

The Chief Minister noted that the data of critical infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, industries, and roads are currently being mapped within the PM Gati Shakti portals. He announced that the government will implement a Transport Management System utilizing the Unified Logistics Interface Platform.

Shri Girish Kumar Surpur, CEO of NLDSL, presented on the ULIP and its potential applications for government operations, while Smt. Ravi Kiran, Deputy Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India, provided insights into the PM Gati Shakti initiative.

The two days workshop, on September 19th and September 20th, 2024 aims to equip Nodal Officers from various departments with the necessary skills to implement the state master plan effectively. A team from BISAG-N, Ahmedabad, will offer hands-on training on the PM Gati Shakti portal.

The event was attended by Smt. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Director of Industries, Trade and Commerce; Smt. Swetika Sachan, IAS, Secretary, Industries, Trade and Commerce; Shri Omvir Singh Bishnoi, Inspector General of Goa Police; and Senior Government officials from various departments.
