Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has extended his greetings to the people of the State, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and expressed that the light of Diwali may illuminate people’s mind and heart with the spirit of oneness in the State.
In his Diwali message the CM said , “The festival of Diwali inspires people to conquer evils, by building a society in which peace and communal harmony would prevail. The illumination on the day reminds us about the high ideals of Lord Rama, who returned to Ayodhyaon this day, after 14 years of banishment and victory over Lanka after defeating Ravana. Removing the darkness of ignorance and leading towards the light of knowledge is the inspiration behind celebrating Diwali.”
CM Sawant further said, “The State is progressing rapidly with development being taken across the length and breadth of the state. People of Goa have marched in the direction of good governance. Let us stress more to buy local products to celebrate the festival, so as to support the home-grown manufacturers in the true spirit of Swayampurna Goa, giving importance to ‘Vocal for Local’ in the State”.
The Chief Minister appealed to share the joy of Diwali with the marginalised and deprived people. “On this Diwali let us uphold the true spirit of brotherhood and reach out to the needy spreading the light of happiness in their life too, in whatever way we can”.
“May this festival brighten every household with joy and prosperity and may the divine lights of Diwali spread peace, happiness and good health. I wish and pray that all good values of compassion, mutual respect and brotherhood become the hallmark of our society to take the State on the path of progress.
Happy Diwali to Everyone!
