The Department of Cooperation Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has informed that as per section 85 A of the Multi State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) (Amendment) Act, 2023, the Central Government will appoint one or more Co-operative Ombudsman with territorial jurisdiction for inquiring into the complaints made by member of the multi-state co-operative societies. The role, responsibilities and powers of Co-operative Ombudsman are as per Section 85 of the Multi State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023 and related rules.
Therefore, it is proposed to appoint a Co-operative Ombudsman as per Eligibility &. Conditions (Annexure-I).
Eligible and willing serving officers and Retired officers of equivalent and above ranks may apply in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II) for appointment as Ombudsman. . The other eligible persons for appointment as Ombudsman may apply in proforma as per Annexure-III.

Applicants are also required to submit self attested copies of Educational Qualification/ Experience/ Published Reports/ Awards/ Recognition Certificates etc. along with the Biodata. Serving officers may apply through proper channel.
