30/05/2015 …. The goa state cabinet on Friday approved holding of 11 state municipality elections on 1st of November this year and has also decided not to hold the same on party lines

Addressing media persons at the secretariat in porvorim chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the five year tenure of 11 municipalities in the state was getting over on 11th of November 2015 and therefore the elections for this municipalities would be held on 1st of November with certain delimitations made in group a and b class municipalities

Parsekar said that the cabinet had approved an increase amount of rs 50 lakh in to the existing deendayal panchayat raj infrastructure scheme where in the state government was giving an amount of 20 lakhs to 1 crore for developing infrastructure in its village panchayat

Mr Parsekar also informed that the cabinet had given a one year extension to around 233 contract staff working under the MGNERGA project
