FOUR DAY NATIONAL AROGYA FAIR IN GOA FROM MARCH 26

Panaji:  March 12, 2016 … Goa is gearing up for a four day National Arogya Fair scheduled to be held in Goa from March 26 to 29, 2016 at Shyama Prasad Mukerjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim. 

The fair is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) with administrative support by Government of Goa with the objective of promoting and popularizing Indian Medicine Systems, namely, Ayruveda, Yoga, Unanai, Sidha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homeapathy for the benefit of the general public and for updating the industry of the latest developments in the sector.

Secretary, Health, Shri Sudhir Mahajan chairing a meeting of senior State officials along with officials of CII and the Shree Kamakashi Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Shiroda and Gomantak Ayurveddha Mahavidhyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda at Secretariat, Porvorim today, reviewed the preparedness for the fair emphasized the need to extend whole support in its organisation to make it successful.

Fixing the responsibility on various Departments in organization of the fair, Shri Mahajan said this is a platform for the people to share and upgrade their knowledge in the field. This will also apprise the people to know the positive effects of the Ayurvedic and Homeopathic medicines besides an opportunity to know the value of all medicinal plants that are so much there in one’s own backyard, he remarked.

The fair will have interactive session on important topic besides free medical check-up, distribution of medicines and display of medicinal plants on all the four days of the event which is likely to be attended by over 20,000 people.

Secretary(Health); Shri Sunil Kumar Agarwal, DCF, Forest Department; Dr. Sanjeev Dalvi, Director and Dr. Jose D’sa of DHS; Shri Salim Veljee, Director, Food and Drug Administration; Shri Dipak Bandekar, Commissioner, Commercial Tax; Dr. S.D. Naik, Principal, Shree Kamakashi Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Shiroda; Dr. Neelesh Koraz, Professor, Gomantak Ayurveddha Mahavidhyalaya & Research Centre, Shiroda and Shri John Aguiar, Information Officer, Dept of Information and Publicity were amongst those officials present for the meeting.
