Mr parsekar was speaking to media reporters on the sidelines of compassionate appointments being given to around 44 candidates at a function held at the seminar hall in porvorim on Wednesday
It may be noted that dhirios were held in mandrem constituency last Sunday where in bull fights were watched by a crowd of over thousands of dhirio lovers
Bull fights had been banned by Bombay high court at Goa in 1998 in a petition filed by People for Animals, alleging cruelty to animals. The Supreme Court had also upheld the order.
Mr parsekar said that though there are certain law towards animal cruelty the state government could prepare rules to legalise dhirios with right approach in mind
Mr parsekar also stated that since goa was a tourist destination and known for various types of festivals even bull fights could be made as one of a sports game which could attract hundreds of tourist in the state
Mr parsekar though dhirios is a traditional game talks such as the dhirios were held in his school campus or that his son was involved in it were all false and had no connection with the issue
