DEEPAK DHAVALIKAR INAUGURATES MOBILE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CLINIC

Panaji: July 11, 2015 …. Minister for Inspectorate of factories and Boilers Shri Deepak Dhavalikar inaugurated Mobile Occupational Health Clinic at a function held at the office of the Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers at Altinho on thursday.

The function was organized by Green Triangle Society in association with Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers to mark the celebration of Occupational Health Day. The theme for the celebration was “OH: From Statutory Compliance to Salutary Performance-challenges and opportunities”           

The Mobile Occupational Health Clinic was procured by the Government for a cost of Rs. 37 lacs. It is a well equipped and unique of its kind Mobile Occupational Health Clinic   comprises team of 8 medical experts.  The services provided are ECG, eye testing, audio testing, spirometry, blood testing along with other first aid treatments.

Shri Dhavalikar interacting with the press said that Government has serious concern about the health of workers working in the factories. This mobile health clinic he said is well equipped to cater to the need of workers. He said workers can avail the benefit of this facility as it will visit to the factories twice in a week. The actual operation   of the clinic will begin after July 13 of this moth he added.

Earlier Dr. G. V. Prabhu National President, Indian Association of Occupational Health, in his keynote address highlighted the importance of occupational health safety. He said every employee has to be provided with safe and healthy atmosphere to work. The Government he said has to pay more attention and the stakeholders of industrial sector too have to uphold the safety of the workers.

Shri Manguirish Pai Raikar Chairman GTS while speaking at the function said that the aspect of occupational health safety of workers cannot be undermined. He said although every occupation has its hazards and effects endangering the human being therefore it is the responsibility of the stakeholders of industries to care for the safety of their workers. 

Shri S.M. Paranjape, Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers welcomed the guests.
