January 12, 2016 …. Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar will release special postal cover and special cancellation on Goan artist late Shri Deenanath Dalal on the occasion of his birth centenary year on January 15, 2016.
To mark the occasion the Department of Art and Culture is organizing Centenary celebration of great Goan artist late Shri Deenanath Dalal and exhibition of his painting at Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji.
The event will be graced by Minister for Art & Culture, Shri. Dayanand Mandrekar, Shri. Sidharth Kunkolienkar, MLA and Chairman of EDC, Shri. Suresh G. Kare chairman of Indoco Remedies Ltd.,and Smt. Pratima Vaidya, renowned Sculptor, Painter & Ceramist, daughter of Late Shri Deenanath Dalal.
The exhibition portrays Late. Dalal’s different styles of paintings, like cover page, mythology, history, social issues, human emotions and political satire. This would be a unique opportunity for the art lovers, emerging painters and students to view the painting traits of Late Shri. Deenanath Dalal.
The new edition of the book ‘Shringar Nayika, first published in 1955 by Late Dalal is now reprinted in bilingual, English and Marathi and will be available for sale at a discounted price till January 24, 2016 at the exhibition site. The book portrays the work of the legendary artist, Mr. Dalal with the description written by Late Shri. S. A. Joglekar. This bilingual edition is a humble tribute to the great artist, Late Shri. Dinanath Dalal, in his Birth Centenary Year.
The artist and art enthusiast of Goa are invited to attend the inaugural function of the Exhibition of Paintings of Late Shri Deenanath Dalal and release of Special Postal cover and Special Cancellation on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4.30 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji Goa. The exhibition will be held at Art Gallery and the release of Special Postal Cover and Special Cancellation function will be held at Multipurpose Hall of Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji Goa. The exhibition will remain open for public view till January 24, 2016 between 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
