In the new development which has been upgraded by the bjp led government a trauma unit has been upgraded to have all facilities to have in trauma itself having facilities like ct scan, xray, digital xray, ultra sound .
Intensive care unit ward has been upgraded and in next two months the total number of beds would go up to 21 from the present 8 along with ventilators
New 128 slice ct scan costing about 3.76 crore has been installed in the radiology department which has facilities of observing a three dimensional structure of fractures and other body areas
And a Biomedical waste treatment unit with the total cost coming to an amount of 12.5 crores
Speaking to media reporters chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that there was a need of a friendly approach from the doctors as well as from the nurses of the goa medical college hospital so that good treatment were given to patients who were coming to the gmc hospital
Meanwhile st andre mla Vishnu surya wagh said that since the gmc hospital was falling in st andre are he would try and see that maximum jobs were given to locals on priority basis
