Panaji: December 12, 2016 … Apprenticeship Programme is essential to develop skill in youths and also to acquire knowledge stated Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar. The Chief Minister was speaking after distributing apprentice offer letters to pass out students of various Government Industrial Training Institutes of state through National Apprenticeship Promotional Scheme at Appresticeship Bharti Mela programme organised by Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at Government Multipurpose College Hall, Borda Margao. 320 students from various ITI’s across State were given apprenticeship offer letters. 52 Industries have participated in this scheme.
Others present on the occasion were Shri. Virendra Kumar, Secretary, Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri. Manish Gosalia, Chairman, Institute Management Committee, Government ITI, Margao and Shri. Alexio F Da Costa, Director, Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Shri. Parsekar said, Government is giving special attention to improve the functioning of ITI’s in the State and has also taken keen interest in Skill India Mission an initiative of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. Shri. Parsekar said, to achieve success in life one has to acquire skill and especially while venturing into entrepreneurship it is important to develop special skill. Goan youths are filled with various types of skills. However there is a need to polish and develop this skills and by taking this into consideration and to establish connectivity of skilled youths with Business Houses Government has started National Apprenticeship Promotional Scheme.
Shri. Parsekar said to facilitate and give boost to entrepreneurs Economic Development Corporations satellite office for South Goa at Margao will be opened soon. Shri. Parsekar informed that, Government is giving financial help to 150 entrepreneurs every month through Chief Ministers Rojgar Yojana and also through OBC and ST Corporations. Integrity, attitude, discipline, punctuality and performance if shown while serving as apprentice will surely help to develop yourself as independent entrepreneur and one can become ideal to other youths Shri. Parsekar said.
Shri. Manish Gosalia said that youths need to take responsibilities and upgrade knowledge and skills quickly. There is nothing wrong in making mistakes but we have to learn from mistakes Shri. Gosalia added. Shri. Alexio F Da Costa, Director, Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship welcomed the gathering.
