WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji, September 15, 2018 … The statement of market price of important essential commodities in Panaji, Panaji centre  has intimated by the Registrar of Co-perative societies for the week ending August 14, 2018 is as follows.

In wholesale, the prices of moong decreased by Rs. 200/- to Rs. 400/- per quintal, coconut oil by Rs. 20/- per can of 5 kgs and eggs large by Rs. 50/- to Rs. 60/- per 100 nos. Wheat Khandva, rawa, green peas and chillies green increased by Rs. 35/- to Rs. 65/-, Rs. 20/- to Rs. 50/-, Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/- and Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 2000/- per quintal respectively during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Shivri, turdal Barshi, moongdal, gramdal, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil vegetable ghee “ Ruchi”, maida, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

In retail, the prices of moong decreased by Rs. 10/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs. 6/- per dozen. Chillies green increased by Rs. 10/- to Rs. 20/- per kilo during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, moongal, gramdal, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and bananas (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

The decreased and increased in wholesale and retail prices were due to decrease and increase in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local and jowar Shalu the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.
