Panaji, February 8, 2018 … The Government has a vision of clean and well developed Goa which won’t be achieved without the participation and corporation of people. Goa has its name world over as tourist destination so we have to be serious about keeping Goa clean and beautiful forever stated by Panchayat Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of the day long State Level convention of Elected Representatives and Functionaries of PRIS at Taleigao today.
This state level convention was organized by the Directorate of Panchayats in collaboration with The Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development ( GIPARD ).
Shri Godinho said that the local representatives have to cherish a broad vision and strive put up proper proposals in the interest the state and its people for which there will be no dearth of funds. This convention comprises of new, experienced and matured people need to have proper understanding in regards of the development of their respective Panchayats.
Shri Godinho further said that this convention will give insight, to the participants to work properly in future. redressing problem of shortage of full time Secretaries in many Panchayats is under consideration of the government he added.
The Director of GIPARD Shri Sammuel Mathews who was guest of honour for the function while speaking advised the participants to take the stock of various requirements of their respective villages and work out development plan and act accordingly.
Smt. Chitra Phadte, Vice –President South Goa ZP, Shri Vasudev Korgaonkar, Vice –President North Goa ZP, Shri Janu Rozario, Sarpanch Village Panchayat Taleigao Ward Members and Sarpanchas of Various village Panchayats were among those who attended the function.
Smt. Sandhya Kamat, Director of Directorate of Panchayats welcomed the gathering.
