DISTRICT MAGISTRATE GIVES GUIDELINES TO CYBER CAFES OWNERS

Panaji: September 27, 2017 … The District Magistrate has imposed restrictions on the Cyber Cafes in view of prevailing situation in the country and intelligence inputs regarding terrorist threats have ordered strict compliance by the owners of such Cyber Cafes in the North Goa District.

          The owner of the Cyber Cafe will prohibit the use of Cyber Café by unknown person and whose identity has not been established by the owner of the cafe. He/She will maintain a register for identity of the visitor/user and will get an entry in the handwriting of the visitor/user mentioning name, address, telephone number and identity proof. The visitor/user will also sign the register kept for this purpose.

The identity of the visitor/user will be established through Government Identity Card like Voter Card, Driving Licence, Smart Card, Passport, etc. If any activity of the visitor is of  suspicious nature, the owner of Cyber Café will immediately inform the nearest Police Station and the Police Control Room (P.C.R.). Record will be maintained about the specific computer used by each visitor/user. CCTV camera will installed by the owner at the entry point of each cyber cafe.

          This order has come into force on September 26, 2017 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days till November 11, 2017 (both days inclusive ) unless withdrawn earlier.
