Fr. Agnelo YSC Paroda secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Arlem Youth Association to advance to the semifinals of the Simon Barreto Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament, organized by Maina Sports Club at the DYSA Ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
Both teams displayed attacking intent from the outset, creating several chances but failing to convert in the first half. In the 10th minute, Livon Clement of Fr. Agnelo fired a shot from the top of the box, narrowly missing the target. Arlem’s Selwin Fernandes responded with a through ball to Garrison Fernandes, but the Paroda goalkeeper made a crucial save, resulting in a goalless draw at halftime.
The second half saw a flurry of goals from Fr. Agnelo YSC Paroda. Livon Clement opened the scoring in the 38th minute, followed by Ashwan Fernandes in the 43rd and Bradley Carvalho in the 48th minute to seal the win. With this victory, Fr. Agnelo YSC Paroda secured a place in the semifinals, where they will face Mandopa Sports Club on January 23.
