READING ENRICHES KNOWLEDGE –CHIEF MINISTER

 Panaji: November  24 ,2016 …. The Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has  advised  the students to strive to achieve more knowledge by reading other books apart from their academic books. Reading he said enriches knowledge and widens sphere of thinking thus helping to be a knowledgeable person of the society. He further mentioned that as we are living in scientific era we need to develop scientific attitude among ourselves.

Shri Parsekar was speaking as a Chief Guest at the inaugural function of Pernem Taluka Level School Science Exhibition-2016. The function was organized by Harmal Panchakroshi High School Harmal in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, Goa State Council of Science and Technology at Harmal Pernem today. The selected projects of 17 schools were included in the exhibition.

The Chief Minister further said that exhibition is a good medium to bring awareness among the citizen in regards issues like garbage management , sustaining the environment air and water bodies for posterity.

Chief Minister also said that with the help of science and technology we can make best out of waste. Cleanliness, he said help to keep our surrounding healthy thus keeping us   healthy too. He appreciated the selected students of various high school and remarked that they are talented students who can become   the  scientists of future age.   

Shri Bhagirath Shetye, Deputy Director Education, Shri Dipak Parab, MS GSCST, Smt. Smita Parsekar< Headmistress, Shri Sudesh Natekar, Principal Late Shri Gopal Parsekar Higher Secondary School, Shri Vinaykumar Verenkar Rtd. Teacher, were among those who attended the function. Dipak Parab, MS GSCST welcomed the gathering.

Earlier the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for widening and beautification of road with a stretch of 2kmts from Harmal Tito to Bhumika Middle School  Palye. The project will be undertaken by   Goa Tourism and is  estimated to  cost  Rs.3.82 crores. The construction work consists of 1.5wide pathway having 1800mts. stretch. Pavers for school children and pedestrians, decorative poles with led bulbs, planting of horticulture trees, fixing of cast iron benches and erection of signages etc. The project is expected to be completed in a period of six months.
