Panaji: March 11, 2016 … Governor Smt (Dr) Mridula Sinha released a book titled “Beautiful women- Journey from Despair to Dignity” at a function held at Patto, Panaji, recently.
The book is published by ARZ- Anyay Rohit Zindagi a social work organization based in Goa. “Beautiful Women” deals with the journey of victims of commercial sex exploitation to the point of rehabilitation.
Speaking on the occasion the Governor congratulated the Director for ARZ for doing yeoman service in rehabilitating victims. She said the society plays a major role in rehabilitating these victims.
The Governor said counseling during rehabilitating is important for the victims as well as for their families. Besides, Society and the Govt. should also come forward and help these victims to lead a normal life. The Governor hoped that thousands of victims are rehabilitated through this organization.
The Director of ARZ, Mr. Arun Panday spoke on the context of the book, specially the swift wash, a commercial laundry set up by ARZ with the objective of providing an alternative livelihood option to victims of commercial sexual exploitation.
Panel discussion was held by Ms Tallulah, while speakers were Mr. Salil Chaturvedi, Ms Fatima Noronha, Ms Hema Nayak, Mr Sachin Parab and Ms Naman Sawant.
