panaji February 25, 2014 … Governor of Goa Dr. Smt. Mridula Sinha, felicitated eight NCC cadets from different colleges in Goa affiliated to 1 Goa Battalion NCC and 1 Goa Naval unit who were selected to participate in the Republic Day contingent at the parade held in New Delhi on January 26.
The Governor lauded the NCC organization for instilling in the young cadets sense of discipline. She said parents need to encourage their wards to join the NCC as it make an individual smart, responsible and positive.
The Governor recalled her own days as NCC cadet on the occasion and congratulated the cadets who participated in the Republic Day camp thus making the state proud.
Deputy Director General of NCC, Goa and Karnataka Directorate, Air Commodore C. Rajeev also spoke on the occasion.
Incentives by State and the Governor were presented to the cadets on the occasion.
Col. Vineet Bhatia, Deputy Commandant, 2 Signals Training Centre, Goa, Group Commander, NCC Group Belgaum, Col. Kripal Singh, Commanding Officer of 1 Goa Battalion NCC Col. Nand Kishor Subedar and others were present.
The cadets who were felicitated on the occasion comprised Cadet Samuel L. D. Costa, Rosary College, Navelim, Cadet Nikhil Sheoran, S.P. Chowgule College, Margao, Cadet G. Lakshmanan, St Xaviers College, Mapusa, Cadet Chanda Prakash Gupta, St Xaviers College, Margao, Cadet Divya L. Nagvekar, Shree Damodar College, Margao, L/Cpl. Sonam D. Shinde, DM’s College, Mapusa, Cadet Sashmita Mallik, Shree Damodar College, Margao and Cadet Chetan Ramchandra Tandel, DM’s College Mapusa.
Parents, Principals and Associate NCC Officers (ANO’s) of the cadets attended the function.
