Panaji, January 21, 2016 …. The State Government will present its Tableaux on the theme ‘Jagor’ at the Republic Day Cultural Pageantry to be held at New Delhi on January 26, 2016.
As per the instructions of the Defence Ministry the work of the fabrication of Goa Tableau has commenced in the Republic Day Camp at Rashtriya Rangashala Camp, Delhi Cantt near Kendriya Vidyalaya and APS Colony, New Delhi on December 24, 2015. So far 75% work of fabrication of tableaux has been completed and the entire work of fabrication in all respects is expected to be completed by January 23, 2016, the day when the full dress rehearsal of the Parade will be held at New Delhi.
Altogether 24 artisans from Goa under the leadership of Shri Sushant Khedekar, Chief artist and a well known artist from Marcel Shri Dayanand Bhagat are working on the fabrication work. As far as the fabrication work is concerned almost all the steel work has been completed. The music for the Tableau is composed and provided by Shri Mukesh Ghatwal and the performing artistes under the guidance of Mr. Bipin Khedekar are doing rehearsals at Rajpath in New Delhi which were held on January 17 and January 18 and subsequently two more rehearsals are scheduled on January 21 and January 22 before the full dress rehearsal slated on January 23, 2016.
As a part of new initiative during Republic Day Celebration 2016 this year all the Tableaux of State Governments/UTS that will be presented on the occasion of R-Day Parade at New Delhi will be displayed accompanied by artists for the vision of general public at Red Fort, New Delhi from January 26, 2016 to January 29, 2016. Also there will be cultural performances of tableau artists during this period.
It may be noted that the Government has allotted the work of fabrication of float for Republic Day Parade 2016 to Shri Sushant Khedekar after the Tableaux proposals of the State Government was selected by the Defence Ministry, Government of India for participation in R-Day Parade 2016.
Last year also the State Government presented its Tableaux on the theme ‘Fish O Goa’ at the Republic Day Parade, 2015 at New Delhi.
