Goan Reporter News: Applications Open for Six-Month Fisheries Training Course Starting June 18, 2024

Applications are invited for Six Months Fisheries Training Course starting from June 18, 2024 at Fisherman Training Centre Ela Dhauji, Old Goa.

The course is meant for imparting training in Fishing Craft and Gear, Fundamentals of Navigation and Seamanship, Maintenance and Operation of Marine Diesel Engine, Weaving and Mending of modern Nets, Seafood Value Addition and  Marketing Aquaculture, Aquarium making and Swimming.

Candidates having passed minimum VIIIth Std. and between 18-35 years of age are eligible for admission. Preference will be given to Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as well as youths from the fishing community having experience at sea.

The candidates admitted to the course will be paid stipend Rs. 1000/- per month and Rs. 100/- per day as D.A. during fishing trips.

Candidates should submit the filled application forms at Fisherman Training Centre, Ela Dhauji, Old Goa. The last date for receiving the application form is June 5, 2024.
