LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO UPROOT CORRUPTION-CM

 Panaji: November,2015 …. The Department of Vigilance recently observed “Vigilance Week 2015” with a theme Preventive Vigilance as a tool of good Governance at a function held at Secretariat at porvorim.

The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar was the Chief Guest of the function while Shri Mathew Samuels’ Secretary Sports presided over the function.

Shri Parsekar addressing at function said that vigilance does not confine to  mere transparency and corruption free administration but it also comprises of right decision and timely implementation, attending the people on time and discharging duties time to time. Therefore he said observance of Vigilance Week is an occasion for all those who are in the administration to retrospect and decide to be vigilant hereafter.

Shri Parsekar further speaking also said that vigilance aims at keeping away ourselves from any wrong doings while discharging duties. Not giving any way for malpractices of corruption. It also expects transparency and accountability for the effective implementation of policy. He appreciated large participation of the bureaucrats for the function but he suggested observing vigilance week in their individual offices. He also called for working together to uproot corruption from our society.

The Chairman of GPSC Shri Dwarkanath Row while speaking said that vigilance does not have negative connotations but it applies to check and balance on correct decision implementation of Government policy. It also means performing duties to the best of our abilities in the larger interest of the people.

The Director of Vigilance Shri Amarsen V.Rane in his welcome address emphasized on the theme preventive vigilance and said that the very objective of the vigilance Week is to bring awareness among the public servants to be vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of their organization and dedicate to provide value based service to the people. During the week the vigilance Department will organize various programmes, workshop for different departments etc. he informed. 

Shri Mathew Sammuels administered pledge of vigilance while Shri Amarsen V. Rane presented mementoes to the dignitaries. Shri Swapnil Naik Addl.Collector -I North, and Heads of various Government Departments and their Officers attended the function in large number.

Shri Francisco Corte, Police Inspector Vigilance compered the function. Shri Bossuet Da Silva, Dy SP Vigilance proposed the vote of thanks.
