District Level National Voters’ Day, 2024 was observed with great enthusiasm at S. Z. Qasim Auditorium, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula today.

Dr. Sneha S. Gitte, IAS, Collector & District Election Officer, North Goa, addressing emphasized the significance of exercising the right to vote. She reminded attendees that voting is not merely a privilege but a fundamental right, urging citizens to recognize the power of their individual votes in shaping the course of the nation. Dr. Gitte applauded the invaluable contribution of Booth Level Officers in bringing democracy to the doorstep of every citizen.

Under the theme “Nothing like Voting, I vote for sure,” this year’s National Voters Day resonated with a call to action, inspiring citizens, particularly the youth, to embrace their civic duty with diligence and responsibility.

The crowd witnessed a video message from Shri Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of India, underscoring the importance of active participation in the electoral process as a cornerstone of democracy.

The celebration also saw the felicitation of newly enrolled voters with EPIC cards, and winners of various competitions honoured.

The profound message of the event was further reinforced through a thought-provoking skit presented by the Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, advocating for the significance of every single vote in shaping the collective destiny of the nation.

The event witnessed the presence of Shri. Kedar A.Naik, Additional Collector I; Shri. Pundalik Khorjuvekar, Additional Collector-III; Shri Gervasio Mendes, Nodal Officer, SVEEP Activity; and Smt. Akshaya Amonkar, Mamlatdar in Collectorate, North.

Shri. Rohit A. Kadam, Additional Collector II, welcomed the dignitaries. Rifa Sheikh compered the function, while Shri. Ishwar M. Madkaikar, Deputy Collector (Election), North Goa, extended heartfelt gratitude.
