A spacious office for the Goa Haj Committee has finally become a reality at the South Goa district Collectorate on Saturday.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Haj office on the occasion of the birthday of Haj Committee Chairman Urfan Mullah and in the presence of office bearers of the committee.
In his address, the Chief Minister said the Haj Committee office will go a long way to meet the requirements of the organisation. “Though our Muslim brethren go for Haj once a year, the office of Haj Committee is working round the year to coordinate with national and other State organisations for the benefit of the Hajis,” Sawant said.
Saying the BJP government believes in taking all sections of society along in the path of progress and development, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes in “Sab ka sath, sab ka viswas and sab ka pravas” aimed at uplifting citizens irrespective of caste and creed.
In his address, Chairman Haj Committee Urfan Mullah thanked the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for fulfilling the long standing demand of the Goa Haj Committee to have a spacious office at the South district Collectorate.
He also placed before the Chief Minister a host of demands affected by the Muslim minority, including the issues related to education.
While expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister for sanctioning the office, Mullah said the Muslim community will support the BJP in a big way in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
