It may be noted that recently a group of goans calling themselves as children of opinion poll and led by historian prajal sakhardande had asked the state government to Include in Goa’s history books from Class VIII to X, lessons on the Opinion Poll, the role that Dr Jack de Sequeira played in it, and also to erect his statue near the assembly complex in Porvorim.
Speaking to goanreporter pwd minister sudhin dhavlikar said that he had high regards for dr jack sequiera and therefore he was of the opinion that statue of such personality should be erected in such a place where in number of tourists entering goa could visit the place and know about the great goan and its history
Dhavlikar said there was a need to develop such touristic sports where in statues of not only dr jack sequiera but also of other goans who tried to save goa from its merger with Maharashtra
Dhavlikar also stated that he had high regards for both goan stalwarts as they were the force in getting good industries in the state
