Panaji : Dated May 10, 2015 … The Prime Minister of India today launched three Central Government schemes – two insurance and one pension for the common man in a programe held at Calcutta. A special programme was organized over the scheme launch at the campus of Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali. Approximately crowd of three thousand people in the vicinity of Bicholim and Sattari taluka witnessed the live speech of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on two big size LED screens.
The Minister for Aayush Shri Sripad Naik, Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Anant Shet, MLA and Chairman of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Shri Pramod Sawant were present on the occasion.
Addressing the public, Minister for Aayush Shri Shripad Naik said that the initiatives of Central Government are aimed at providing affordable universal access to essential social security protection in a convenient manner linked to auto-debit facility from bank accounts. He complimented the official of various banks for their initiatives that they have taken to strengthen the efforts of the Government.
Speaking further Shri Naik said, the pension scheme will focus on the unorganized sector and provide subscribers a fixed minimum pension of Rs 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 or Rs 5,000 per month starting at the age of 60 years, depending on the contribution option exercised on entering at an age between 18 and 40 years.
The schemes are launched by different banks in different cities of the country. Bank of India was given the task of launching the schemesin Sankhali.
Other present on the occasion were Smt. Ankita Navelkar, Chairman of North Goa Zilla Panchayat, Shri Vishwajeet Rane, Shri Satyavijay Naik, Shri Shankar Chodankar, ZP, Mayem, Shri Srinivasan of New India Insurance, Shri B. K. Arsekar, Deputy Zonal Manager of Bank of India.
Earlier Shri B.K. Arsekar welcomed the guest. Shri Sakordekar compered and proposed vote of thanks.
