Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today asserted that the student community has to prepare for tough competition in near future to face competitive exams for achieving a good career in life. No one can escape from competition as every individual requires extraordinary calibre in their respective field.
Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the 5th Adivasi Vidyarthi Sammelan organised by the Directorate of Tribal Welfare in association with United Tribal Association and Alliance held at Mahalsa Narayani Temple, Verna today.
Chief Minister Dr. Sawant said that students aspiring for Government employment should commence training for Goa Public Service Commission exams at the stage of class tenth so that they gain enough confidence to appear for Staff Selection Commission exams in the State too. Students those are enjoying special facilities for Schedule Caste or Scheduled Tribes too need to face the competition to get the breakthrough as everyone is doing extremely well.
Chief Minister also urged students to discover new employment opportunities rather than just looking for Government employment. Everyone can’t get a government job. As such people have to look for other avenues which are available in the State. Goa has lots of potential to explore various new job opportunities. If youngsters focus and work on it, they will achieve great success.
Dr. Sawant reiterated the Government’s commitment towards the welfare of tribal students. It is supporting students through various welfare and financial assistance schemes. An individual who avails the benefits of such schemes should also give back to society by extending the same support to needy people.
Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri. Govind Gaude in his address advised students to be consistent towards achieving their goal. An individual who wants to be successful in life, needs to have clarity of career and sheer dedication to achieve the goal. Failures are always certain in life. It makes the person more perfect and gives strength to work more hard.
Shri Gaude informed that students are losing interest in reading books and are becoming more addicted towards digital gadgets and equipment. He urged the students to inculcate reading habits so as to keep them abreast with latest happenings around the world.
President of United Tribal Association Alliance (UTTA) Shri Prakash Velip said that education is very significant in the life of tribals. It is the only means for tribal individuals to attain success and respect in the society.
Shri Velip, pointing out that tribal community students cannot afford professional coaching for competitive exams, appealed to the Government for extending support for commencing special coaching facilities for tribal students.
Founder of NGO, Responsible Netizens Smt. Sonali Patankar presented a lecture on Cyber Safety. Information Commissioner, Central Information Commission Shri. Suresh Chandra spoke on Legal Management of Information.
