Sports Minister Govind Gaude announced that there would be a grand closing ceremony for the National Games that includes a cultural programme and a formal function as part of the ceremony that will be attended by the Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar.
Speaking to reporters, Gaude said that the National Games so far have proven to be a huge success, just like he promised they would be.
“10,040 athletes have registered for the Games, which is exactly the number that we said would come and that we promised would be here. Everyone is satisfied with the atmosphere of the games and the quality of the infrastructure. If you go to see around the venues there is a festive atmosphere which is not too dissimilar to the Olympics.”
“We are making all arrangements for the closing ceremony which will be held on November 9. By 12pm on November 9 all the disciplines and all the events will have been completed and the stage will be set for the closing ceremony,”
