Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant laid the foundation stone for the Re -Construction of the office building of CCP at a function organized by the Corporation of the City of Panaji in association with the Goa State Urban Development Agency at Panaji today.
Briefing the media, Chief Minister said being the only City Corporation of Goa, there was a need for a new and expansive building for the office of Corporation .The project will cost around 75 crore and construction of the building will be completed as early as possible he informed .
Taliegao MLA, Smt.Jennifer Monserrate, Mayor CCP, Shri. Rohit Monserrate, Shri Sanjeev Naik, Deputy Mayor, councillors were also present on the occasion.
Mayor CCP, Shri. Rohit Monserrate informed the expected time of completion of the project is around 2 and half years. The entire structure is designed to have a Basement and Four Floors. Off street parking has been demarcated to cater to all the shops he added.
The proposed building for the Corporation of the City of Panaji has been conceptualized and designed by Soares & Associates which consists of the Commercial Enterprises and the Corporation technical and administrative offices besides providing for additional commercial spaces.
The Proposed Building has the advantage of abutting the city roads on all sides i.e the 18th June Road, Atmaram Borkar road on two sides and Pandurang Pissurlekar Road. Keeping this in mind the, The building has been planned around a Central Courtyard, typically seen in traditional houses.
