Minister for PWD Shri. Nilesh Cabral today asserted that, when every individual strives to be successful in the journey of life, eventually the nation will achieve that success to stand tall in the world and called on every citizen to focus on the ‘Nation First, Always First’ idea for uniting people and developing society. He was speaking after hoisting national tricolour on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of India at South Goa Collectorate complex, Margao.
Minister, Shri. Cabral cherishing contributions made by the great leaders and freedom fighters towards gaining the independence for the country, stated that the young generation has the responsibility to take the country to greater heights. India is one of the youngest nations and has varied opportunities to grow forward and achieve prosperity in every sector of life.
Shri. Cabral praised the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi for his achievements towards development of the Nation and also lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant for implementing various initiatives and schemes for betterment and welfare of the people.
Highlighting the initiative of Janata Durbar by the Government, he said that the District Administration needs to be more vibrant in resolving the issues of common people so that every citizen will have a solution for their problems and the purpose of Janata Durbar will be served in its true sense.
On the occasion student groups from the schools in the vicinity of Margao presented patriotic songs.
