To mark the 50th Death Anniversary of Bhausaheb Bandodkar, the Samadhi Stal at Miramar, Panaji was decorated in Kavi art form with flower petals  by the students of Shrimati High School, Velguem under the guidance of Art teacher Shri. Yogesh Kauthankar and other staff of the School. The efforts taken by the students revived the oldest art form of the State.

Kavi Art is known as a sacred and oldest art form of Goan Cultural heritage. At present the Kavi art is on the verge of extinction but can be still seen in the form of murals at temples in the Konkan region,  old houses and small shrines in Goa.

During Portuguese rule Kavi art was recognized with a special status and after Goa`s Liberation the first Chief Minister, late Bhausaheb Bandodkar took initiatives to promote this art as a Goan identity. It is called to be an indigenous architectural ornamentation technique of Konkan Goan coast.

During the G20 meet in Goa, most of the old heritage buildings at Patto Panaji were decorated and painted in Kavi Art form
