Panaji, February 22, 2020 …. Governor of Goa, Shri Satya Pal Malik has said that Our Army should have a proud feeling that they are the paramount and most respectable citizens of this country since they safeguards our boundaries and keep our country safe and as a result of which every citizen of this country live comfortably and can sleep peacefully.
Governor was speaking as Chief Guest for the function Organised by 2 Signal Training Center (2 STC), Goa to celebrate its 109th Anniversary of Corps of Signals at Prakash Stadium, Military Camp, Bambolim. Other dignitaries present on the dais were Commandant, 2 STC Brigadier Sanjay Rawal. The function was also attended by family members of all ranks of Corps of Signals of 2 STC.
Speaking further Governor said that while reading all the great battles of the world he learned that the forces whose morale, training, weapons and whose leadership is good, and support of the society can excel. The respect earned by Indian Army in the country through their good work and boldness, result of which the forces of India have shown the amazing feats in the books of the world and at present on number two position as per ranking.
Sharing his experience during his tenure as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Governor said he visited Siachin and after meeting the army personnel got opportunity to know their working style. Referring the Siachen war, Governor said many soldiers were martyred while fighting the war of Siachen and even many soldiers died due to worst weather conditions of extreme temperature but still our Soldiers are doing their duty without any regrets and complaints.
Governor said that any country is not known by its number of buildings, nor by its factories, nor by roads, the country is known by its citizens, Armies, leaders by their action, practice and morality.Whenever our Armies fought in wars they won and always raised our head.
It is matter of pride to see there are many villages from Rajasthan and other places where statues of martyr soldiers are displayed at the entrance of every village these are places of pilgrimage and people visit such places.
