Panaji: October 19,2019 …. The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated State level ‘Job Fair’ organized by the Department of Labour & Employment at Taleigao today. The objective of the fair is to bring together aspiring youth who intend to seek job and the job providers. The fair aimed to bring talent close to employment opportunities and thus bridge gap between job seekers and job providers as well.
The Chief Minister said those who intend to have job should think about their education, skill, interest and strive to secure particular job otherwise they won’t be able to get job of their choice. There arises a problem between mere education and skill education. He stressed on conducting aptitude test and carrier guidance during 10th and 12th standards where the students will get proper guidance about seeking job in future. .
The Chief Minister speaking frther said that it is not possible to provide Government jobs to everyone. Therefore he advised the youth to prepare themself to accept jobs in private sector or avail the schemes of Government and emerge as self employer. The Government is thinking to tie up with the private companies through the Goa State Human Resource Development Corporation to provide permanent jobs of various categories. Therefore he suggested the youth to acquire required skills and keep upgraded to get the job of their interest. He said Goa has stood third in the country with regards to IT innovation etc. The Goan youth he said should not become only job takers but should strive to be job givers, he reiterated.
Minister for Labour & Employment Smt. Jenifer Monserrate called upon the youth not to doubt their ability and discourage themselves for having tried for job for several times. Never give up your attempt and the Government is here to push them in right direction. The 50 plus companies who are ready to provide about 3000 jobs which is a great opportunity across various sectors and industries. She said creation of job is primary task ahead of Government. Employment for all Goan youth across all sectors and different pay scales is the need of the hour and we are stead fast to make this a reality.
