Panaji: November 9, 2017 …. The 44th meeting of Goa Labour Welfare Board was held in the Secretariat Porvorim yesterday. Minister for Revenue Shri Rohan Khaunte chaired the meeting. Shri Christopher Fonseca, AITUC, Shri Vivek Marathe, Chief Inspector of Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers, other members of the board attended the meeting.
Retrenched Workers Assistance Scheme, reconstitution of subcommittee for retrenched works assistance scheme, procurement of software for the office of Goa Labour Welfare Board, implementation of VIIth pay commission to the staff of Goa Labour Welfare Board etc. were the main points in the agenda discussed in the meeting
Shri Khaunte suggested to make improvement and implement previous schemes which are in force for the welfare of the labour and aimed to have labour friendly environment in the state. He earlier also attended 10th meeting of Goa Building and other Construction Welfare Board. and reviewed various schemes of the Central Government implemented for the welfare organized and unorganized labourers.
