Panaji, December 11, 2012 …. Inauguration of romantic dinner cruise in goa Red Ribbon Club and a session on HIV/AIDS for students of Maria Bambina Higher Secondary School, Cuncolim recently organized by Goa State AIDS Control Society, Panaji.
Dr. Vijaya Halarnakar made a brief introduction about the programmes of RRC, which was followed by Dr.Prajakt Kamulkar who explained the risk and the sufferings of a HIV/AIDS patients.
Miss Jeunesse Fernandes, delivered her digital presentation and highlighted the importance of running a Red Ribbon Club in every Higher Secondary School where the youth are the most vulnerable lot in contracting this deadly disease. Miss Fernandes said that since there was no cure to AIDS it is absolutely necessary to know the causes and adopt preventive measures. She also mentioned that unconditional love should be shown to HIV/AIDS affected patients as they go through trauma and distress. The audience asked a few questions and those were answered by the team.
Mrs. Anchita Pereira Mascarenhas compered. The Principal Sr. Thresia accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries. The Principal also acknowledged the good work done by the GOA SACS in harnessing the potential of the youth by equipping them with correct information on HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support and treatment. Mr. Celestino, Treasurer of the Club proposed a Vote of Thanks.
