Addressing media persons at a press conference in the capital city president of goa movement for special status prajal sakhardande said that the association was reiterating its demand for special status for the state of goa on grounds that the state was liberated in 1961 and was not a part of the constituent assembly when the indian constitution was being framed due to which goa could not be compared to the other state of the country

Meanwhile the member also stated that the pressure on exciting infrastructure was already suffocating the people and therefore its demand for special status was specially required to put restriction on sale of land to individual who were not of goan origin along with the protection of pre Portuguese institutions like gaunkari or communidade
