CM INAUGURATES TWO DAYS FOGSI GYNECONCOLOGY CONFERENCE 2016

Panaji: August 1st ,2016 …. The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that the disease of cervical cancer is haunting the women as it taking toll of death of women. The  cases of this  disease are  increasing  and therefore it is necessary  to take precautionary measures to arrest the same. The Chief Minister also called upon the gynecologists and the Oncologists to come out with effective solution to get rid of this menace

 Shri Parsekar was speaking as the Chief Guest after inaugurating two days ‘FOGSI Gynae Oncology Conference-2016’ organized by FOGSI Oncology Committee in association with Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Western Zone in Kala Academy at Campal on Sunday.
 Shri Parsekar further said that the Government has initiated various steps for strengthening infrastructure, provision of adequate staff so as to provide better medical services to the people. The HP vaccine would be listed in the schedule of immunization. The Mamata Scheme he said has been  formulated by the Government in the honour of girl child and further enlisted several schemes which are in force for the welfare of  women.
 Shri Parsekar  said  that the two days conference will seriously deliberate on the issue of cervical cancer and other diseases of which the women fall victims,  the occurrence of these disease and come out with curative measures by sharing their innovative knowledge, experiences and expertise in the greater interest of mankind he added
 MLA and Chairman of Kala Academy Shri Vishnu Surya while speaking at the function said that the women folk is affected with the disease of cervical and breast cancer which  is increasing day by day. The need of the hour is to have proper awareness among them to take early measures to prevent themselves from this disease. The conference he said will go a long way in finding better solutions to eliminate the cervical cancer disease.

 Thereafter Chief Minister Shri Parsekar released a book having the title ‘Calposcopy, in Practical Gynaecology authored by Dr.Priya  Ganesh Kumar  and a souvenir entitled FOGSI Gynae Oncology Conference-2016.
 Dr. Pradip Naik, Dean GMC, Dr. Guruprasad Pednekar HOD Gynaecology GMC Dr. Bharati Dhore Patil, Dr.Ajit Nagarsekar, Dr. Abhijit Kamat, Dr.Priya Ganesh Kumar,students of Oncology, Gynaecologists, Oncologists from all over the country participated in the conference.
 Dr. Kedar Phadte, Member of Panajim Civil Society welcomed the guests while Dr. Dayanand Rao compered the function.
