The Justice of High Court of Bombay at Goa Justice A.P Lawande has said that that it is the duty of the society to safeguard the rights of child and provide protection for their healthy growth so as to become good citizen.The constitution of our country envisage various provisions for the purpose which we have to consider to safeguard the interest of the child.
This was stated by Shri Justice Lawande who delivered inaugural address at awareness programme on NALSA ( child friendly legal services to children and their protection.scheme2015, organized by Goa State Legal Services Authority in association with District Legal Services Authority, North Goa at Patto in the city today.
Justice Lawande further speaking said that it is the constitutional right of every citizen under article 22 of constitution of India to be defended by a legal practitioner of his choice. In regards to administration of juvenile justice is ensuring legal services at the state expencses. It is the mandatory duty of Legal Services Authority to make available free legal aid service to every juvenile.
Shri Saresh D. Lotlikar, Ld.Advocate General for the State of Goa also spoke on the occasion.
